My wife had Bermuda on her bucket list, and this was our second attempt after having our KW, Havana, Cozumel cruise canceled due to Hurricane Irma. The itinerary was changed to Portland, MA and Halifax NS. I was not happy, but what choice did we have. - Embarkation was a bit slow. Don't show up early. You will be seated in a waiting area until the ship opens. Guests who showed up after the ship opened walked right on while we waited our turn in queue. - Our luggage wasn't delivered to our room, we found it lined up with all the other luggage in the hallway. After waiting, we got it ourselves. - The ship was huge and spotless, crew was very courteous and helpful. - Our Cabin 7528 was clean and well appointed, the balcony, though small, offered great views and served its purpose. - The shows were all spectacular (We Will Rock You, Spectra's Cabaret, and Headliner shows). Get there early for good seats. A few people were holding whole rows until their large groups arrived... and they arrived late. Charlie Jourdan in the Michael's Pub is great and takes requests. The 70's Show in the Music Lounge was fun and hysterical. - My Time dining (American Icon), food was excellent as was the service (If you can get table 741,743 or 745 with Roche, do it!). We got very lucky and the other two couples made dinner very fin and entertaining. The Windjammer was always crowded and busy. Seats could be found, but you need to move quickly. We didn't use any of the Specialty restaurants. - iFly (onboard indoor skydiving) was fun and free... even for a 53 year old. Make reservations early - We didn't use any ship excursions. Since it was a short notice cruise, the choices were very limited. We toured Portland privately with 207 Cabs. We didn't get off the ship in Halifax, instead we used the ships amenities. - The Solarium is perfect for relaxing, but fills up quickly. - The bar staff throughout the ship were quick and made your drinks to order. I asked for an Orange Martini... Joseph at the Solarium Bar never heard of one, but made it taste great. - The ship behind the scenes tour was excellent, taking us below deck to the engine control room, laundry, kitchens, and bridge. - For the most part the cruise was smooth sailing. Cruising days were foggy, even the Captain couldn't figure out why. It was suppose to be sunny and in the 70's. The last 1/2 day and night were a bit rocky due to moderate seas. I felt that the ship handled it well. Though many took advantage of the barf bag at the top of every flight of stairs. - Voom standard wifi worked pretty well ship wide for email and Facebook (one device at a time). If you want to stream, you need the faster more expensive package. - The Royal App (free to use on ship's wifi) works pretty well allowing you to see your reservations and all the activities on board. - Debarkation was a bit of a mess due to guests not following directions and cutting in line instead of waiting. We did Carry Off (you handle your own luggage) and were one of the first passengers off. FYI....At the parking garage (Bayonne NJ Terminal), you need to pay at the parking garage kiosks first before going to your car. All in all, for a cruise I really didn't want to take (due to the being rerouted 2 years prior... if your ever rerouted to St. John New Brunswick, stay on board). But I can say that the crew of the Anthem of the Seas made it well worth it. We are considering trying for Bermuda on the Anthem again... just not during hurricane season.

No Bermuda twice in a row but still a great cruise

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony
Cabin D2 7528
The cabin was clean and just big enough to be comfortable for 2 people. Large luggage might have an issue. My wife's bag went under the bed. Mine which was larger went in the closet. Plenty of sockets and USBs for power. The TV stopped working on our trip home due to poor signal. Our room attendant kept the room clean. She was always polite and smiling.
