We had cruised in the Far East before and see the Star line ships in Hong Kong. We enquired and received great reports so next time we were East in Singapore we booked a short cruise with Supervirgo up the Malaysian coast to Phuket and back. The service was second to none, we had an inside cabin which, like the rest of the ship was spotless.We requested a double bed and ice for drinks when we boarded. The cabin steward had it completed by end of safety drill and every evening the ice backet was filled, exquisite models made from towels (which we had not had on our most recent cruises) and brought back memories. We had not exerienced free dining before and it was effortless, with so many venues to choose (some at an additional fee) but you would not eat out at a good restaurant for the price we paid. Entertainment was a bit"holiday camp" but with so many cultures to entertain it was pleasant, we are not really "show" people but did enjoy the dancing, music and karoke! Plenty of room and beds round the pool and jacussis. We only took one organised tour to KL the others we took local taxis, had no problems and saw and did what we wanted. It was thoroughly enjoyable and DIFFERENT from the american and english cruise lines. Not everyones cup of tea I would think, children were much in evidence til 11pm. Different cultures behave in different ways so if you want a traditional cruise this is not for you. The choice of food in the buffet was terrific, I was able to sample dishes spicy and unfamiliar, vegetarian and mysterious without feeling uncomfortable if it wasn't all to my liking,(but most was!)
