We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale 3 days after Hurricane Irma had hit Florida. We always fly in 2-3 days ahead of our cruises (especially since we always travel during hurricane season). Our original hotel was cancelled due to damage. Luckily we found a hotel w/power & no damage, which was difficult. We were eager to try Harmony, especially since we cruised on Allure in Sept of 2016 & loved it. We arrived @10:35 a.m. at the port and by 11:00 we were already checked in and in our room. (note: it is rare to get into your rooms prior to 1:00 p.m., but because the prior cruise to ours was shortened to only a 4 day (due to Irma) with only 1,700 guests, all rooms were ready.) Like last year, embarkation & disembarkation was a breeze. We had a sold out ship. For those that complain about the Oasis class ships feeling "overcrowded" they are just plain over exaggerating! Yes, on embarkation day elevators and common areas can get crowded until rooms open up, after that the crowds disperse, no biggie. With so many different places on the ship & entertainment we never felt like we were among 6,800 passengers. The ship was just beautiful. Never did we ever see anything out of place. The workers kept her immaculate all week. Crew was eager to please and pleasant. If you can't keep yourself busy with all the free entertainment and things to do, there is something wrong with you, LOL! Entertainment was good. If I compare Harmony to Allure, then I would say Allure wins with best entertainment. Harmony had great entertainment but my husband & I loved Allure's just a tad better.

ENTERTAINMENT:

Fine Line Aqua Show was good. Hideaway Heist (2nd Aqua Show) only offered 1 evening with 2 show times was AMAZING. Don't miss it, was toward end of cruise. 1887 Ice Skating show, excellent. Columbus the Musical wasn't all that great we struggled to get through it. Missed Grease, just was too exhausted for the 2 1/2 hr show by end of week. Comedy show was horrible, people got up and left.

Cabin Review

Owner's Suite with Balcony

Cabin OS

Our owner's suite was spacious & beautiful. It was our first time trying this room & we are glad we did. There was no shortage of closet space or storage. Loved the separate shower from bathtub. Dual sinks, marble counter & beautiful tile adorned the bathroom. There was a partial wall w/curtains to separate the bedroom & living room along with a tv in the bedroom and another in the living room. The 254 sq foot balcony was the gem along with 2 loungers and a table w/4 chairs on it. Because it is part of the bump out on the ship, it felt massive. Will be hard to go back to a grad suite after being spoiled in this grand room!

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

It's a great area to visit a few days prior to cruise. However, this time hotels were damaged and most were still closed due to clean up. We arrived 3 days after Irma but they had just got power back up that Wednesday we flew in. A lot of business were still closed but we were able to go out to dinner. We felt guilty going on vacation after all that state has just went through.
