We just returned from a 10 day cruise on Norwegian Getaway. We had amazing weather and amazing ports. The ship is a newer ship and was beautiful. The rooms have a great amount of storage and we had an extended balcony which was wonderful. We found the food to be good but not great. We found the variety lacking and often repetitive. Part of the problem was the dining room service. We tried each of the dining rooms and found the service to be extremely slow and often times they would not get the order correct. Our drinks were constantly left empty. We have been on 6 cruises with different cruise lines and have found this service to be one of the worst we have had. On 3 ports we opted for private excursions (TJ Travel was amazing!) and then on the final 2 ports we went with ship excursions because they offered a few things the private ones did not. Overall, not worth the price for the ship excursions. The groups were too large and the tour guides were not as good as the TJ Travel guides. We paid almost 3 times more for far worse excursions. Another issue we had is that my mother-in-law got an eye infection and needed to see the ship doctor. They charged $189 to see the doctor. $49 to look in her eye. Then they gave her 2 sets up eye drops and charged $150 for one bottle and $550 for the other bottle. When we researched the internet to find what normal pharmacy costs were for both medicines, we found they were 3x's more!!! When we went to discuss with ship, they said it was Norwegian that sets the prices. Seriously! Overall, the ports were amazing and the cruise was fun. However, the food, excursions and service was not good at all.

Cabin Review

Large Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B6

Beautiful room and balcony. Not too much noise but very far from elevators. That was our only complaint. Lots of storage. Bathrooms are beautiful.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

One of our favorite cities. I would highly recommend arriving early to tour the city before the cruise leaves. Amazing!!!
