Ruby Princess Cruise Review by Capoppy
Repositioning cruise from Seattle to Vancouver on the Ruby Princess was less that the same cruise on the Emerald Princess the prior week. Ruby was like a low budget facsimile of the Emerald. The buffet lines were cut in half to serve twice as menu people with half the options? Dinner service was also sad, the prime rib cuts were small and VERY inconsistent. Neighboring tables had small cuts and we had a wedged cut that was half the other serving at the same table. I asked for a larger cut which was provided but came with a whole new plate. I was not allowed to take the extra to my cabin for later. Corn was bad, but not as bad as the Emerald previous week. Trying to reconcile it all, maybe they are putting a better foot forward with the Emerald in an effort to help people forget the recent incident on board. Had two balcony cabins, both were in acceptable condition, one on Baja toward the front and the other center rear on Aloha. Casino dealers for craps were almost Vegas quality. Good time, food disappointment, staff were upto par, disembarked as wanted, public transportation to YVR is easy and cheap Sunday, a deal not even $3.00 Canadian, and we beat the Princess bus.
