We had a great family vacation on the Allure of the Seas! Highlights include a clean and comfortable room with a fantastic view from the balcony, entertaining shows in the main theatre, ice skating rink, and dive pool, convenient and fun destinations (especially Labadee and Cozumel), and great service. Our main constructive criticism is that the food is often at a cafeteria level and needs a lot of improvement on the Royal Caribbean cruise line.
EMBARKATION
Arrival at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale was a bit hectic with all of the cars and security officers directing guests where to drive, but honestly it added to the sense of excitement as my wife, son, and I arrived for our cruise. Parking was easy and nearby in a surface lot right next to the port entrance. Embarkation was smooth - it took us less than 5 minutes to check in and another 2 or 3 minutes to get onto the ship. We recommend getting there early (arrive just before 12pm). The ship was quiet from 12pm-2pm and it was a great time to take an initial tour through the entertainment area (Deck 4), royal promenade (Deck 5), central park (Deck 8), and pool area (Deck 15). We also got lots of pictures and videos in of the ship itself during this period.
Our room was clean, with bright colors, a comfortable king sized bed, and a great view. We were able to fit a pack and play crib in our room without a problem. Royal Caribbean provided the pack and play and our attendant Mack packed it up each morning and set it up each night for us.
