Carnival Sunshine Cruise Review by Utz
Arrived before our check in time of 11:30, went smoothly, however we did have to wait to board, it was 12:30 or so. Room was ready at 1:30, cabin stewart was very nice. He took care of all our requests and called us by name, ask how our day and dinner was. We only did one cruise excursion it was in St. John, it was ok, informative, the bus was full and space tight. Our guide was a cute little older lady dressed in period clothing. With the exception of one night, the food in the dining room was very good, service was good, staff friendly and called us by name. Shows were good, there was plenty of seating, the theatre was never full at the shows we attended, bar service was prompt. Enjoyed days when we played trivia with other guests. The only thing is there was not bar service we we attended functions in the Ocean Plaze during the day, would be nice to get a coke at that time. The boat was rocky, but that was just Mother Nature. There were two days when some of us noticed that the cruise director did not announce that we had arrived in port and had been cleared by customs and you could leave the ship, someone on a 1st cruise may have not known to ask if debarkation was ready.
The biggest draw back was embarking, we had #10 tags and we still did not get off the ship until 10:30, which made a long day driving home.
