This was our third time cruising on Regal Princess, and the worst experience overall on Princess. It was a repositioning/transatlantic cruise, the sixth such cruise we’ve done...so we have plenty of experience doing this type of cruise, as well as experience with this ship.
I’d booked a balcony guarantee, and soon after was notified that the upgrade fairy was looking out for us...providing a deluxe balcony stateroom, with sofa and (tiny) coffee table. Unfortunately, this upgrade was anything but. The room wasn’t totally trashed but definitely wasn’t in the best of shape. The TV had a large scratch, the coffee table was beat up and the curtain liner filthy from getting caught in the door. But the worst part of this stateroom was its location near Princess Theater. We heard every afternoon practice and 2 shows most nights, with vibration and bass thumping until 11 pm. Do not allow yourselves to get roped into a forward room below deck 11!
Our second biggest complaint was with the food. We have generally been pleased with Princess’ food quality and selection in the past. This time, other than breakfast, pub lunch, and fried seafood, nearly everything seemed like week-old leftovers. Yuck. Beverage service in the buffet at any meal was spotty.
See full review. This cabin was not up to Princess’ standards. Scratched TV, beat up furnishings and worst of all, LOTS OF BASS NOISE FROM PRINCESS THEATER, as late as 11 pm.
