This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise for my sister and I and we sailed from Galveston. We parked at Port Inside parking and thought the embarkation was pretty easy, about the same as Carnival from Galveston. The ship is beautiful - large but managed to get around with ease-with a map!! Our cabin was in the aft section on level 9 which was a good location for dining purposes. Up and down were restaurants. Our balcony cabin was very similar to others we have sailed in with good beds and good storage and plenty of hangers!

We had my time dining and only had a little trouble getting a table without reservations on one of the formal nights. The food in the Rembrandt was very good and the service was excellent. We ate breakfast and lunch at the buffet and split dinner in the buffet and dining room. In the buffet we found the food to be a bit better than other cruise lines we've been on but toward the end of the cruise it seemed as if they were using leftovers in different combinations and it left a little to be desired. We had no trouble finding a place to sit and as with most cruises, the service got better toward the end of the cruise! The variety was great at all meals;I LOVED the Texas chili early in the cruise.

Our favorite part of Royal Caribbean was the entertainment: from the Air Show to Saturday Night Fever to the Adult Comedians to the Country Band we had a great experience. We tried some of the trivia which was fun and the casino where I won a little and lost a little. We enjoyed the Quest game show but it was a little risqué. Definitely adults only. We had read comments on Cruise critic about the up sell on everything but it wasn't any worse than other cruise lines. It was a bit irritating to be hit up for dining around the buffet.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

This cabin was about the same as other lines we have been on. Good sized and plenty of storage and hangers! Our attendant had a difficult time getting our room cleaned in the early part of the day as we were in and out but she tried.
