We chose this cruise to see if cruising was for us.(we are now converted) and after reading previous reviews on this site we had an open mind.My wife and I flew from NZ to Brisbane to link up with my wife's sister and partner and had 2 adjacent ocean view cabins on Baja deck(10).

Embarkation was well organised and the enthusiastic welcome as we walked onto the ship was the forerunner of excellent service and organisation from day 1 to day 7.

There was a real cross section of passengers, from children in strollers up to older people with walkers, some even with powered mobility scooters, plus a few groups celebrating birthday milestones. We are in the mid 60's to 70's range but the on board activities, entertainment, shows made us feel young.

Cabin Review

Premium Oceanview

Cabin O5

Quite roomy cabins, very comfortable large Kingsize bed. Heaps of storage space both in drawers and wardrobes.Temperature and pressure of the water in the shower was fully adjustable and worked perfectly.Air conditioning temperature was difficult to control and the noise took a while to get used to. Great view from the large window.

Our cabin steward was great, very quiet and unassuming, but kept the cabin in a top condition.TV was very good and the fridge kept the wine cool.

We utilised Room service every morning for a customary In bed cup of tea which was delivered within 5-10 mins from a phone call. It was great service.

Port Reviews

Brisbane

Stayed in Brisbane with relatives for 5 days before this cruise and as we have been here many times can thoroughly recommend it as being a more laid back, less bustling city compared to other major cities of Australia

Isle of Pines (New Caledonia)

Lovely picturesque island, good for swimming and going for a walk in the sun.Not much else close to where the ship's tenders drop you off apart from souvenir stalls.
