Chose this cruise due to the itinerary & had traveled NCL before. Loved the port of calls. Ship is too big, too noisy & poorly designed for us. Couldn't find a quiet comfortable place to sit & read or relax anywhere on the ship. Too cold on deck & room had no chair. The Atrium usually busy with their "silly games" or other activities & sound system set way too high. This was true even in the lounges where they had several excellent entertainers. Atrium noise carried even into the library & if you were trying to talk to the staff at the Cruise Service, or Shore Excursions desks nearby was very difficult to hear staff trying to help or even talk without shouting!

Food was good but dining rooms noisy - especially Tropicana with loud dance music. Could hardly visit with table mates or hear hardworking waiters in any of them. Long waits - average meal took 2 hrs and food not always hot. Told were kitchen problems. Wait staff were friendly and seemed to be doing the best they could under the situation. Missed evening shows we had "booked" due to long time at meal.

Tours -- Pre-booked rental a car in Warnemunde and drove to small towns in the area. Was a great relaxing day! Talinn was very interesting town, but Hop-on Hop-off buses in Talinn were unpredictable and very confusing. At main stop near town center buses would change color of routes they drove. Bought ticket through NCL for $24 but only were able to ride to the Old city and then back to the ship with time we had. For return, after waiting nearly an hour at the stop, got on a bus that changed colors at next stop. Then had to travel nearly the whole new route to get back to the ship. Many gave up and walked back to the ship after waiting at stop in the rain. St. Petersburg was great but Russian customs took a long time! With several large ships in port and other non-cruise tours, popular sites were crowded. Gold room on Hermitage tour was especially interesting with all the treasures! Were told the limited numbers for evening tours made it great! Could have stayed longer in Helsinki and Stockholm.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

Cabin IB

Inside cabins were small & not very comfortable for 3 adults, especially when the bunk was lowered for the night. Kept bumping heads on upper bunk. Had asked for a room for 3 adult Seniors with beds all on the floor level, but were told they couldn't tell us what room we would get, just guaranteed we'd have a room. Not cool for 70 year old lady to crawl up a ladder to a bunk. Took 2 days, but they then put one of us in another inside room. Stewards were great! Was at the door before we got off the phone!

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

Arrive 2 days early, Purchased 24 hour Copenhagen card with free use of buses, metro, and entrance fees for popular sites. Great value at around $60 US. tLoved Rosenberg Castle and Crown Jewels, Gyptotek and it's art treasures, and canal tour.
