We chose this cruise with Fred primarily because it sailed from Liverpool and Fred was recommended by trusted friends with good taste and judgement. Also because it is a smaller traditional ship. We have had several cruises on oceans and rivers but this was 10 out of 10 for all aspects; excellent well trained staff, crew and passengers. No lager louts or badly behaved families. Took us back to more genteel and well mannered times. Food was incredibly good, cabin very comfortable and restful, tastefully designed public rooms, no minimal sterile decor, a discreet casino area instead of it dominating the ship. Boarding and disembarking very efficient but with adequate security. Port lectures were professional with no pushy sales talk with regard to the excursions. Wonderful entertainers and a great cruise director. Just could not find fault with any aspect of cruising with Fred Booked for next year out of Liverpool again, which is so convenient for us in the North West.
Restful and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and bed linen and towels were of high quality. Adequate storage and plenty of clothes hangers. Great bathroom with a cast iron bath and quality shower gel/shampoo and hand wash Cabin attendant kept it all spotless.
Two traditional portholes gave it a great authentic ambience.
Only one hour from home and we were boarding our cruise ship berthed in front of the famous iconic Liver Building. Very exciting. Very efficient and helpful embarkation procedure.
Long wanted to visit Lisbon but prefered Oporto when we sailed on Douro River.
Interesting city with a great buzz and a lovely cathedral.
Loved Nice. Gorgeous city with a wonderful cathedral and old quarter. Fred Olsen arranged for a very knowledgeable guide who and passionate about his home.
Very swanky French Riviera. Lots of fun seeing how the other half live!
