We are gold members and have enjoyed NCL many times but this time the ship was too large, impersonal and always digging into our pockets. In the past we enjoyed perks like the "meet the officers cocktail party" . We did not receive an invitation even though supposedly it was a voice message rather than a written invitation...how personal is a phone message you did not receive? Some evening shows were duplicated 2 nights in a row...really. The gift shop jewllery i.e. amber, was way over priced. The garden cafe buffet had the same food night after night even though themed nights were advertised. We took the recommended tours from the ship. In St Petersburg the guide's transmission set worked only half the time. Our tour thru the Eyes of Russian people was o.k. but the market place only sold meat, vegetables and had few stalls and we were left for an hour in the rain to walk around. The guide told us nothing of Russian life other than Russians do not smile and some weather info.
We always buy coupons for future cruises but not this time.
Bye bye NCL.
Was fine and our cabin boy did a fine job.
