I have been on numerous other cruises but the MSC Preziosa was the worst ever. Even though it was supposed to be a new ship, the décor was out-of-date, dark, and tacky looking. The cabin was dirty and there was some trash under the bed from previous guests. We had to request the cabin be properly cleaned.

The ship seemed overcrowded. There was no where you could go without having to weave through a crowd of people. You always had to wait for a seat or a place at the bar or a chance to play a slot machine. The hot tub was always at capacity, you couldn't get to use any of the machines in their small gym, the bowling alley was broken, and the pools were always closed due to the weather. The only time you could get some peace and quiet was in your cabin.

The food was terrible. We were given fish that was cold and raw inside. The pork was rancid and the vegetables were always overcooked and so salty that you could not eat them. I was given silverware nicely wrapped in a napkin and when I unfolded it, the silverware had not been washed. It had chunks of food dried all over it. The "fine dining" that you paid extra for was a joke. It was located right next to an arcade so you had the noise of the games and unruly kids running in and out of the dining room. The food during the specialty meal was a set menu that you could not change, even though a few of our group had dietary restrictions. The chef refused to make any adjustments so they basically had bread and some cheese for dinner. The buffet was even worse. There were not enough seats and we had to eat two meals standing up. They only opened a few food stations, not all of them, so the area around the buffet was crowded and food kept running out.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B1

The cabin was decorated in outdated red and chrome décor. It looked like a 1980's brothel. The cabin was dirty. The bathroom floor needed a good scrub, there were handprints on the mirrors, the rug needed vacuuming, the bed cover was ripped, and the couch was broken.

Port Reviews

Amsterdam

We were so sick of the MSC cruise that we left the ship when we got into Amsterdam. It was so much better to tour the city on our own without the hassle of the ship. We were able to stay in a nice hotel, eat good food, and have two full days to tour. We got back to Hamburg by train.
