We were recommended by a friend who took the cruise with Emerald, and my wife and I could not thank him enough. We were many times in Europe, but had always been skeptical about cruises . Well, it is worth it,i would say, specially if you are the senior active retired type.
We embarked in Nuremberg and explored the city before, and really liked it,specially the visit to the 3d Reich Documentation Center, and the site to the nazi rallies and Nuremberg trials.
As far as the accomodations,we chose an A type cabin, perfectly adequate. Food is very good, they had local cuisines and wines represented as we passed by different countries. The idea of having walking tours in each port is very good for those like us who like to walk and explore.and as well. But we believe what made the cruise really special was the cruise director,Darrell Collins, only praise for his professioanalism and caring for everyone. We are looking forward for our next trip, hopelly Emerald will have Yang Tse river one.
walking tour was well guided, and free time allowed us to see Albrecht Durer House
