this cruise line does not give you the information that you need before the cruise. we were never told about any of the special dress nights (formal, white-dress, caribbean). the cruise excursions were not scheduled the way it should have been. not enough time in ports that you would have liked to spend time and too much time in ports that you didn't need to spend much time in. spent hours in lines at the guests services to get information and trying to resolve issues. the stateroom was nice (jr. suite) but not enough outlets. i would rate the food at good but there were a few courses that were cold and terrible steaks. you have to pay additional for freshly squeezed OJ, which is ridiculous. long lines to get food at the buffets and replenishment of food was not what it should have been. the special parties that were thrown were lame. the last day was extremely unorganized. when i expressed to the supervisor at guest services the issues that we experienced she apologized but couldn't do anything about it.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

i did not see barcelona but should have it looked beautiful

La Spezia (Cinque Terre)

we took the excursion that went to rapello, santa margerita and portofino. we ate breakfast on the ship at 8:00am. by 9:00 we were in rapallo and were given crouissants and capaccinno. nothing much to do or see in rapallo. then by 10:00am we arrived in santa margerita where we had to waste 2 hours. the tour guide told us to have lunch. they was not much to see in santa margerita. then onto portofino where we all expressed that we would like to have the most time there but only got to spend 1 hour. portofino is a lovely little town that i would have loved to have lunch and alot of shopping. these tours need to realize that their itineraries are not to the benefit of their guests. very dissappointed and would not have taken this tour if i knew that i would only have 1 hour in portofino

Rome (Civitavecchia)

we have been to roma a few times before so we figured we would do this on our own. royal caribbean could have been a little more informative about getting around ourselves. we did not realize that the ship port in roma is about 75 minutes away and if you would like to take a taxi it is going to cost you about $150 one-way. not enough time in roma.

Naples

we rented a driver. that is the way to go if you can afford it. it cost about $450 for a 12-hour private tour. aldo tours picked us up in naples drove to ravello which is a lovely little town, don't miss it. then onto amalfi about 20 minutes away. very busy town but don't miss this one either. then about 45 minutes away is positano. it is my favorite! we had lunch at l'guarracino on the beach and ate a heart shaped pizza which was delicious. we spent the most here in positano. we went to some hotels because we will be going back next september. this town has everything including the most steps and inclines. the shopping is top notch along with the views and the restaurants. you never will have enough time here. then onto sorrento which is very active with restaurants and shops and good gelato. our driver mykalay was very sweet and informative throught the 12 hours of our tour.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

this is a beautiful place with the most beautiful church. we wish we had more time to spend here but we wasted time trying to deal with royal caribbean and then we spent other time at the party in palma which i would not do again. the flamenco dancers were excellent. the giysy kings were good if you like this type of music. i would have rather stayed and explored palma de mallorca
