We were impressed with the choice of excursions offered on their Canadian Cruise, and the housekeeping and main dining room service. We also thought the Cruise Director did an outstanding job providing entertainment. The food was good, and our servers in the Main DIning Room were fantastic. I thought the breakfast, however, was better in the Windjammer.
The ship itself was lovely, and spacious, even though we had some issues with our individual cabin. However, we were disappointed that on the last excursion we arrived very late into Quebec, and consequently did not have enough time to really tour the city, since the excursion we chose took up most of the time left.
In addition, one of our suitcases were lost when we disembarked and so far, this issue has not been resolved. It was missing when we went to collect our luggage, even though it was clearly marked. I was told it could take up to 30 days to resolve, and if not found, we would only be reimbursed up to $300, even though the value was more than that.
The cabin itself was average. The bathroom was tiny and the showerhead was very difficult to maneuver. The quality of complimentary toiletry items was mediocre (Terrible shampoo) and limited. No hand lotion or body wash offered. The bed, while ample size, was very hard and left me stiff and sore in the morning. There were not enough outlets in the cabin, and none in the bathroom that accommodated a razer, blow dryer or curling iron. Also, there was a terrible sewer-like odor almost every day. The room, overall, however, was clean, and we were well supplied with towels.
We loved that the Captain took us for a short sail around the Statue of Liberty and the NY Skyline
We toured the Vanderbuilt mansions and grounds. The tour guide gave us a great description of the city as we drove through.
ROckland was interesting, but not as much to see here.
