I am a young at heart senior and solo world traveller who loves new experiences! I have always wanted to go on an Alaskan cruise and the idea of a return trip from Van was perfect as I live there! It was on my bucket list for later in life, but I received an amazing deal for a balcony stateroom, so I booked.
Despite some motion sickness, I loved the cruise! The people I met were wonderful, the productions by the Sun cast were very good and there were many activities at Dazzles. Dan, the cruise director and his staff were so much fun and added to the enjoyment I experienced! The Comedian Fred Bevil was so funny and there are still some things that make me laugh! The group Uptown were amazing with their singing and choreography. So, so good! They had a meet and greet after a performance, which I thought was really good of them, considering they had to perform again in less than an hour!
There was never a shortage of things for me to do even though I was travelling solo. A nightcap in the Wingjammer lounge was a favorite as I enjoyed listening to Manny, the piano man or Jason who sings wonderful tunes that everyone knows.
Loved my cabin. Very clean and my steward Willie, was so very good. Loved my nightly towel animals!
My favorite thing was getting up early, making coffee and sitting on the balcony dressed warm and wrapped in a warm blanket. I had the foresight to bring one along! Saw a beautiful sunrise, my first Orca and amazing scenery sitting out in the cool quiet of the early morn.
The amount of space in the cabin was ample and perfect. I am a petite person so even the shower was good. Hee , hee.
