We chose the cruise based upon the itinerary, as this included LeHarve, as we wanted to go to Normandy. Unfortunately, there was a port strike and we couldn't dock there. That being said, we had heard very nice things about Princess, so we decided to try them. We have been loyal to Celebrity and Holland America. From the boarding process, to disembarkation, one would have thought this was their first cruise venture. The ship was very difficult to navigate until one figured out the layout. We were surprised that the dining rooms were not open for breakfast or lunch (especially on sea days) requiring us to go to the buffet which on most ships is quite the zoo, The entertainment on-board was average at best. We went to several shows but truly enjoyed the 'Princess Production' shows....well done and well choreographed. The lack of entertainment around the sip was surprising...we always book the late dinner and expected there to be a lounge with some music to enjoy a drink before dinner. If there was one, we could not find it. We had a nice table in the Palm Dining Room, however, our server was overwhelmed (in our opinion). The food was average to poor at best with very few selections. One night our server dropped food on my wife and the response was nil...no concern for her well being or stained clothes. We tried a 'specialty restaurant,' their idea of a New England Clambake experience. The food and service were awful and we walked out halfway through our meal. One highlight was the Vines Bar and their staff...that was our 'go to' place, yet they continually were out of many things on the wine list. I could go on and on, but I think you get the jist of our experience. We spoke with many long time Princess cruisers who shared their frustrations and disappointments with this cruise. We were underwhelmed and truly disappointed with Princess. Someone needs to review their current business model and make significant changes throughout the organization. Last trip with them...we will stick with what we know and what we like. When spending several thousand dollars on a vacation, one expects better service, better food and an overall better experience!

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin B4

Small, tired and needs to be refurbished. Very small shower, small room for what we thought we we would get but very spacious verandabalcony/. Because of its size, room not laid out very well. Furniture old and worn...during moderate-heavy sea days, drawers continually slid open and slammed shut. Could us a redesign. Amenities were fair; not great. One curious thing, we always received old, almost frayed towels while the towels on the attendants cart looked new and were much larger, softer and better quality. We did take a few a hid them. Never were sure where the 'good' towels ended up...not in Cabin D734!
