We flew across country (on a red eye) to take our first cruise to Bermuda. It was a good decision. While it would have been nice to spend time in Boston, my thrifty (cheap!) nature that says "more money for cruises, less for hotels", helped make this decision. We arrived at the port around 10 a.m. Embarkation went smoothly and we were snacking (some would call it "pigging out") in the Garden Cafe by 11:30 a.m. Cabins were ready about 1:30 p.m.

I wrote a separate cabin review but 10657 (inside) was OK except for its inability to block noises (some call it music) from the atrium. One time we also smelled food frying at O'Sheehan's but that only happened once.

Speaking of food: Food everywhere (Moderno, Cagney's, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro, and Garden Cafe) was all good to excellent. Moderno's salad bar was fabulous. Le Bistro and Cagney's were up to par with good service. I think the chef's in Teppanyaki need some new jokes (this is our 10th cruise on NCL) but the meal was fun and good as usual. The waitresses there seemed baffled by simple requests made by folks around us and the receptionist at the front desk (combined with the Asian restaurant) might be described as "surly" but my mom always said keep my mouth shut if I couldn't say something nice. Again going against my mom's advice, I'll wish silently that folks would use their "inside voices" in restaurants. My friend claimed that they sell 4 times more tylenol on the east coast than the west coast but he may have been kidding.

Mid-Ship Inside

Cabin IA

I wrote a separate review. Everything worked. TV has a distinct scratch on the screen. Too much noise from the Atrium. One occasion of food odors from O'sheehan's. Typical NCL inside cabin. Heating and cooling was fine.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

Excellent place to walk around. Beaches, museum, historic relics are nearby. Shopping area also interesting.
