We have always wanted to see Alaska and this cruise fitted the bill perfectly.
My wife is in a wheelchair and we were very impressed how accessible the whole of the ship was.
We were very impressed that Holland America had a good selection of wheelchair accessible excursions available (unlike other companies who we have cruised with in the past!) In Juneau we went whale watching and were transported in a coach with a wheelchair lift. In Skagway we did the White Pass Rail Journey where there were coaches with wheelchair lifts.
My wife is in a wheelchair so we were allocated this accessible cabin which was as large if not larger that the suites which we have had on other ships. There was plenty of room for the wheelchair and the bathroom had a 'roll-in' shower. There was plenty of hanging and shelf space. The only slight problem was that there was an emergency call button on the bed head which was very easy to press accidentaly when you stretched out ! - We did it at least 5 times but on each occasion the front desk phoned to ask if it really was an emergency so they must be used to this.
The Park rangers were on board in the Crows Nest Lounge and they gave a brilliant commentary as we sailed up the bay. It was fantastic eating lunch and watching a glacier calf.
