This was our 3rd Oceana Cruise, and we choose this itinerary because visiting Barcelona Spain was at the top 1/3 of our bucket list and we wanted to experience one of Oceana's newer and larger ships. Neither disappointed. The Riviera is a FABULOUS vessel, extremely well designed and magnificently appointed. As usual the staff experience was beyond compare. We enjoyed the entire itinerary, especially Barcelona to Barcelona, Monaco, Palma de Mallorca, Malta and Pompeii (Lavorno).

The newer staterooms are not only more spacious but are even better laid out than their predecessors and the new baths are fantastic. The beds, bedding and linens are a real indulgence and much appreciated. One disappointing note, the food quality has definitely slipped since our initial sailing in '07. Especially disappointing this trip was the food at the Polo Grill, mediocre at best. Both new specialty restaurants Jaques and especially Red Ginger were superb. We will definitely cruise with Oceana again, but hope the food notes are taken seriously by management.

Addressed above, truly outstanding and a big improvement over the already excellent Nautica

Port Reviews

Marseille

What a lovely and charming place, great sense of being in an authentic provence village even though in reality quite touristy. But the high percentage of locals made it feel more authentic.
