We stayed in Venice for 3 days before embarking on our cruise. We had a wonderful time and stayed at the Hotel Papadopoli. It was off the Grand canal and had a little park behind the hotel. Easy to get around and quiet at night. We took a private water taxi to the port which was very convenient and a lot of fun. Embarkation was quick and organized. We stayed in a suite so we were among the first to board and had a great lunch in Cagney's resturant while we waited for our stateroom to be ready. Our butler was attentive but never intrusive during our stay. The NCL Star was a great way to travel to all the interesting ports we visited. This cruise was very port intensive so we did not see any shows onboard in the evenings because we had very early shore excursions booked through NCL for each day. We did eat in the specialty restaurants 3 times, twice in Cagney's and once in Le Bistro. We enjoyed both restaurants but we enjoyed Cagney's more. Great service and good food. We had the Ultimate Beverage package and enjoyed trying new drinks with dinner or after returning from port each afternoon. We also purchased the Thermal Spa pass for the week as we enjoy the use of spa area and the quiet place to watch the sail away. This was money very well spent for us. Disembarking was very easy as we had put our luggage out the night before and we had priority. This allowed us to stay in our suite until 9:30am and then be walked off by the concierge where we quickly found our luggage and were on our way. We took a taxi to our hotel near the airport. We stayed at the Crown Plaza Venice East for a night before flying back home to the states. This hotel was clean and a 2 minute walk to the train station. We were able to spend the day back in Venice after only a 20 minute train ride from our hotel to the city center.

This room has a lot of space, very large windows and comfortable bed. The couch really needs to be replaced as it is very worn out. Quite area except when people choose to ignore the hours for the jogging track which is up one deck. We could hear people running above us most mornings by around 6am,
