We chose this cruise for the wonderful itinerary. Our 4 day stay in Copenhagen before boarding was great and we would love to go there again. Tip for visitors: museums are closed on Mondays. Getting on the ship was an ordeal with lines snaking out the doors and people jumping lines and long waits of over an hour to check in.
The ship is lovely, well maintained and crew really worked hard to make it a positive experience for us.
The entertainment was the best we have seen in over 20 cruises. We really enjoyed a variety of headliners including singers, a violinist, a magician and a ventriloquist. The tribute band was our favorite. The theater is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. The lectures were a disappointment in both subject matter and lackluster delivery. While the trivia was usually fun, the scrapbook session once again was in a location that is impossible to work in and with poor tools to work with if you wanted to try to assemble a kit.
Cabin was small, a little tired and beds could use a foam mattress pad to improve comfort. The location was great with the elevators close by and cabin was quiet. Shower is tiny and curtain sticks to you when you take a shower and still manages to get the floor wet. No amenities like shampoo, conditioner or a robe. We requested a refrigerator for my medication, a sharps container, distilled water and an extension cord thru our travel agent and were assured they would be in cabin. None were there when we arrived and it took 3 days and putting up a fuss to get all items. Steward was wonderful and worked so hard keeping the cabin immaculately clean. Our towel animals were absolutely adorable.
We visited the National Art museum, The Queens' castle with the museum of the rooms from previous rulers, the King's garden, the quay, the shopping walking area with the street fair atmosphere with buskers and marching band. Had the gay pride that weekend as well as an Ironman competition so city was really crowded.
We walked around the town and really loved the shops and the people. If you are in good shape you can walk into Skagen but we took the bus provided for 500 kroner.
We arrived on a holiday and few stores were open. It is a neat city to explore.
