We booked this cruise because of our previous excellent experience with Viking River Cruises. It didn't disappoint - it was glorious. The ship was brand new and we were the first paying passengers (they had completed some previous test cruises). Everything sparkled and worked well. The cruise started at Rome and had some excellent destinations including Naples and Pompeii, Sicily, Tunisia, Sardinia, Majorca, Valencia, and Barcelona. The transfer to the ship from the airport was smooth. A free tour was included in every port or you could pay a little extra for one more to your tastes. The opportunity to see Pompeii was a once in a lifetime bucket list experience. The tour was well run and the guide was excellent. The all day excursion in Tunisia was amazing with another great guide. The free included tours in Sicily, Sardinia,and Majorca were well run and great too. In Valencia we used the shuttle bus option to downtown since we had visited previously and it worked very well.

The ship is well planned. Every room has a balcony. The room was great, comfortable, good service, and plenty of room. The standard restaurant was fantastic and the specialty restaurants even better. Great food, great service, and many food choices all excellent. Regional food was available tailored to each port, which is always fun. The infinity whirlpool at the back was very nice. Dining indoors or outdoors was nice. We were busy enough that we didn't have a chance to test all of the amenities but they sure looked nice.
