We previously did a river cruise with Viking and were totally impressed from the booking to the return home. Viking never let us wondering. We were met at the airport, escorted to the ship, enjoyed the cruise and ports, not to mention the food and service was excellent, and were escorted to the departing airport. The staff were totally at your disposal night and day. Viking went out of their way to hire the most informative and easily approachable guides at every stop. We are interested in history and boy did they supply it, almost to the point of saturation. the choices of meals covered everyone's desires and if you went away hungry, it was your own fault. The room was very clean and the staff made sure it stayed that way. From the Captain on down we were treated the same by everybody. The on board educational presentations covered things that were behind some of the tours.

Found that the area was known for it's Lavender crops

Naples

awed by the town in the shadows of Mt. Vesuvius.
