Cabin: Mini-Suite with Balcony

We have cruised a number of other times on other lines. Our favorite line is Celebrity, but we got tired of the same ship layout time after time (their newest ships). We thought we'd try Princess. What a mistake. And, I am not a terribly picky person - I'd rather just enjoy our time with our friends. But honestly, after our Princess cruise, I am questioning if I want to cruise again. Anywhere.

The Plus on Princess: They had laundromats. And there were more TV program choices, though we don't cruise to watch TV. And I liked that the sky was dark at night, as opposed to Celebrity that did have bright lights outside.

The negatives:

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Cabin was ample size but with a TINY balcony. So disappointing. Long couch, two TVs, long desk. A large heavy curtain between the bed area and the living area, nice for blocking out sun if we were sleeping in. Nice sized closet/dressing area in front of bathroom. It has a tub, but we didn't use it. Not much shelving in bathroom.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation was fine - long lines in industrial buildings, but average.

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is jammed JAMMED full of tall apartment buildings and businesses. We didn't even get off the ship. Too ugly. And the tall mountain was clouded over, rainy day.

Toulon

We did the trip to Aix-en-Provence. It was a lovely town and nice tour, though it was a lot of walking.

Barcelona

We disembarked in Barcelona. We found many of the people rude. It was pretty enough and historic, but we got sick with colds on the ship and we ended up spending our five days in Barcelona in a hotel room. We did go to the Aquarium, which was lovely. The famous La Rambla, a tourist street, wasn't really very interesting.
