We booked this cruise to Iceland aboard our last cruise with 'Cruise Next' team manager Paloma and we are very glad we did!
The cruise from Southampton to Iceland and return was aboard the Norwegian Jade in an Aft Facing Mini Suite(#11654) which is wheelchair friendly so very roomy for those without the need for a wheelchair.
The embarkation in Southampton was the swiftest yet but once aboard we were unable to access our cabin until almost 2pm. We heard many passengers expressing their annoyance about this delay.
This Stateroom is wheelchair friendly so was very roomy for us as we do not need wheelchairs. If there was one criticism it would be that the position of the sofa along the same wall as the TV made it difficult to watch TV unless you were laying on the bed or sitting on one of the upright chairs on either side of the bed. Either a corner sofa or having the sofa moved cross the corner would have been better for us as we did not need the open spaces needed for a wheelchair or needed the sofa bed extended.
We did not take an excursion but travelled on the Hop-on-hop off bus and walked around the various places that interested us.
Again we took the Hop-on-Hop-off bus and explored those areas we thought interesting.
We joined friends on a private tour with Red's Orkney Tours by David Hamilton. Could not have been any better, his knowledge of the area and sites was exceptional! We both recommend him highly.
We took a private tour with friends on Red's Orkney Tours by David Hamilton. This was the best tour we have ever done - his knowledge of the Orkney Islands and the attractions is very thorough and we really enjoyed this tour.
