This was our second Viking cruise and we were very pleased. We selected this cruise because we have never been to countries on the Baltic Sea. We loved the ship, and although there were over 900 passengers, it never felt crowded - the feeling was very similar to the feeling on a river cruise. The Viking Sea is a beautiful and comfortable ship - there are many lounges and plenty of onboard activities. The food lived up to Viking's high standards and there were many eating venue's. We also enjoyed the lectures and nightly entertainment - the performers were very professional - there were singers, dancers, bands, and classical soloists. One special performance was a tribute to Abba - with many tunes from Mamma Mia. The cruise director is also an opera sinder and her performances were outstanding.

We saw some amazing ports of call. Although we did get some extra tours (a bit expensive), we mainly took the included tours. The tour guides were very good. In Copenhagen we actually got to see the crown prince and princess at the palace. My favorite port was Gdansk, Poland, a city unspoiled by WWII. The most impressive natural place was Norway. Our small ship was able to go up into the fiords. St. Petersburg was incredible. We did find that the pace of the walking tours was sometimes too slow. We are both energetic 70 years olds and we like to walk fast.

Based on this wonderful experience, we booked our 3rd Viking cruise for 2018 and we can't wait to tour the Mediterranean.
