Prior to this cruise, we had done several Caribbean cruises with another cruise line and we were ready for a Mediterranean cruise. We had done a river cruise with Viking & were very pleased with that so decided to go Viking for our Mediterranean. How happy we are that we did!! Everything about the cruise was top-notch. The ship was beautiful, our cabin was spacious, the food was delicious , and the entertainment was excellent. Although we normally enjoy a casino onboard, we didn't miss it at all. There were enough other activities or just visiting with other passengers to keep us entertained.

We enjoyed all the ports & the included shore excursions at each one. The local guides were very knowledgeable & interesting. We took only one additional shore excursion (at Montenegro) & enjoyed the mountains & scenery but it was a little long. We did both pre & post cruise extensions at Athens and Venice. The Athens hotel (Hilton) was very nice with a beautiful view of the Acropolis from the rooftop lounge. The Venice hotel (also a Hilton) was a little odd. I probably would not stay there again.

All the Viking staff we encountered both on the ship and onshore were very helpful & friendly. Our embarkation, disembarkation, and transfers from airport to hotel & vice versa were very organized & easy. Read more
