This was out 7th Viking cruise (5 river, 2 ocean). Our last Ocean voyage had been on the I'll-fated Viking Sun trip when we spent six fun-filled days in Tallinn. In part due to the excellent treatment we got from Viking during that experience, we decided to try another Northern European cruise. This itinerary was delightful, and the scenery in both Scotland & Norway was fascinating and beautiful! We added a three-day post cruise excursion to Iceland, which was equally fascinating and scenic. Iceland is probably 2-3 years away from having enough infrastructure to support the current level of tourism, but it was still a fun experience.

The food on board was delicious, both in the main dining room, and in the specialty restaurant, Manfredi's. The casual late breakfast offerings at Mamson's cafe were limited, but delicious. Service in all venues was outstanding, and staff clearly was focussed on enhancing the traveller experience.

We were in a Penthouse Junior Suite, which was spacious and well appointed.
