We chose this cruise because it left from a local port(Dundee) in Scotland, the price also influenced the choice.Embarkation went very well,we were shown to our cabin without delay, and the cabin was as we expected, plenty of storage clean and tidy.Unfortunately it all went downhill from there on.Starting with breakfast, one of the two main restaurants closes at nine and the other at nine thirty, which meant that the bistro was very busy, which meant no seats no cups at times surly staff and had to be closed completely on the day of disembarkation,If the main dining rooms were kept open say to ten am all this frustration could be avoided. The ship is very noisy in most of the public places particularly the captains club, and Sinatras bar,the ship was very crowded and it was difficult to find seats at times, the entertainment was pretty hopeless, the duo in the captains club were pretty dire, the main entertainers were slightly better, but not to the standard we have been used to on earlier cruises.Again I come to noise this time in our cabin 5135( which we were upgraded to)was really loud, like something banging on the out side of the hull,so not very relaxing, infact there was nothing relaxing about this cruise,an experience I would not wish on anyone.Disembarkation was very slow due to the incline of the ramp and the average age of the passengers, very dangerous to say the least. To sum up,very noisy, overcrowding leading to lack of seating, poor entertainment, food not the best.Never Again
Good size, plenty storage with safe But VERY NOISY at times
Normal tourist shops, but again the scenery was great
Excursions from the ship very expensive, took our own tour from the dockside.Very interesting city much bigger than I expected, really nice around the fish market
It was to far to go into Newcastle, been there several times before,so opted for the bus to the metro centre which was ok
