We chose the cruise because of the destinations only, being two older women who did not want to drive in Italy or be worried about public transportation. We had never cruised before and did not know what to expect, so we loved waking up each morning in another beautiful place-will definitely do it again, although based on destinations, not a particular ship. Everything was great, my only complaint being the beds, old mattresses need replacing. The entertainment was top class, the activities covered a huge variety of interest, and the shore excursions we chose were very well organized and very informative as well as entertaining. The sights covered in Italy were beautiful and awe inspiring. We had an interior cabin which was fine for us as we went off the boat everyday except at sea days, where we spent our time at the pool, ocean watching, or playing games in the Schooner bar. We mostly ate at the Windjammer buffet which had a very,We dined twice at the MDR and had super service, although we went fairly early. On sea days we enjoyed eating from the Park Cafe as we just had to put on a cover-up and not venture far from the pools or sun deck. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to eat outdoors from the Windjammer and loved the large amount of deck chairs available for sail away and sun relaxing on the Brilliance as we are outdoor people. The nightly shows were awesome,(have no experience with other cruises, but so good compared to all inclusive hotels) and if not in the mood for that, the bars had games, live entertainment or there were movies indoors and out. Service was great, with bar and restaurant staff and our cabin steward knowing our names and tastes after a couple of days. Both embarkation and disembarkation went quickly, easily and smoothly-especially as we had no previous experience with this and needlessly worried about timing of flights, etc. Barcelona was an unexpected treat, as we wanted to go to Italy primarily. We spent 3 days there prior to the cruise and loved it-beautiful city, easy to navigate, great food and sights. Although not knowing what to expect, we will definitely cruise again and recommend Brilliance of the Seas to those who are destination oriented, and want well organised but casual fun!

Salerno

Amalfi coast boat tripand walking tour was very beautiful, in spite of rain. The amazing coast would have been more scenic with blue skies, but we enjoyed it very much, and really enjoyed shopping and lunch in Amalfi. In the afternoon our tour continued to Pompei with was incredible-so much to see and experience!

Ravenna (Bologna)

Had planned on touring Ravenna on our own but were tired, and when we saw the beautiful beach right next to the docked ship, we just went to a beach club there. It was very nice, warm, shallow ocean and cheap beers.
