MSC for the first time and last. This was a weeks cruise from Southampton, taking in Zeebrugge, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Le Havre, only we did not do this. On the first day we were notified that Amsterdam was cancelled due to weather conditions, though no one could understand this. This meant staying in Zeebrugge for two days, one wasted. We went to Bruges and used the local coaches which were very reliable and cost effective.
The Hamburg overnight stay was ruined as MSC decided to place the ship in a parade. which meant that no one could leave the ship on the first day (saturday). The next day was a sunday and whilst we could leave the ship everything in Hamburg was closed.
We then instead of cruising to Le Havre detoured to Rotterdam as Le Havre was cancelled.Three out of four ports cancelled or changed which left us cold towards MSC.
Cabin at the very rear of the ship overlooking the wake. In our opinion the clothes storage area is to small for the quanyity of clothes taken on a cruise. Two door wardrobe and a chest of drawers with a safe in the adjacent unit. Bed alright but not the best for comfort. Bathroom as per normal on a cruise, bare minimum but that is the way it is. TV in an odd place whivh forces you to look diagonally towards the left and could be placed in a better position. Would not choose a room like this again as the noise and vibration from the engine was a bit to much. Air con works fine, fridge, hair dryer and kettle to hand as well. Room not the best but liveable.
This was our emabrkation port.
