We have taken 2 Royal Caribean cruises before, everyone talked like Princess was so much better so we took the bait. Lets start with the positives, good food in dining rooms, good room steward, enjoyed the comic show. The decor of course like most ships looks like brass and very 80s, our room was very clean,
Lets talk negatives. This ship did not have enough room in the "common' areas to support the amount of people on board, We were ALWAYS in a crowd, having to move out of the way or bumping into someone else. I never felt this on prior cruises. Also this tour has 4 other ships following along with each other so at port you have 10,000 people descending in each location. So excursions were packed, so at this point i began to feel like a sheep being herded from boat to tour bus etc. To get to some areas of the boat you had go to one end of the boat and catch the elevator then go over and catch another, it was like one of those mystery houses with rooms that lead to nowhere!! it was the most ridiculous layout of a ship I have ever seen but The MOST negative is the way they disembark people at the ports. It was laughable and seemed like they had never even done it before. 3000 people trying to get off thru ONE door, nobody knew where the line began or where it ended, there were NO princess employees trying to guide people in the right direction, it was extremely frustrating when you only have 30 minutes to get to your excursion and you are 2,999 in line to get off the boat! it was amateur at best.. Getting off the boat for final disembarking was flawless however so its even more baffling. However Alaska was lovely and I would love to go back just not on a cruise ship- another thing entering Victoria BC at night 7p-12a is a joke, why bother with this? what can you see at night? like a dummy We paid to tour the gardens! lost $$ there..its ridicoulous
we had a balcony room which I highly suggest when you go to alaska cruise
beautiful this is where the balcony room comes in handy. the ship turns in the bay so eventually you get to see everything without leaving your room
