Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

We chose this trip as a late-season visit to Alaska's Inside Passage. It was a reunion of sorts, as my best friend from high school and his wife of 40+ years booked the same cruise. They took a stateroom across Deck 7 from us, so we four had Balcony Staterooms on opposite sides of the ship. A great way to see Glacier Bay from either side of the ship.

The entire experience was great. Boarding was very quick, considering the number of people who needed to be accommodated. Less than 90 minutes from when we entered the cruise terminal we were in our stateroom.

The onboard experience was simply outstanding. Food was great, service excellent, and we enjoyed every minute. I would gladly do another cruise on this great ship. Everything was clean and worked great. No issues at all. The "Test Kitchen" gave us several great cooking experiences, which offered a fun and pleasant way to learn more about cooking. a great idea!

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VD

The cabin was exactly as described. No surprises, and it was an excellent experience. They had set it up as two twin beds, but after one night I asked the attendants to make it into one larger bed. It increased the walking space around the bed, and made the room feel larger. This stateroom is right next to one of the big Neptune suites, but we never heard a sound from them. And even though we were behind the elevators, we didn't hear them either. Very quiet room, and we were very comfortable. With the close proximity to the elevators, we were able to get around the ship very easily.

Port Reviews

Ketchikan

Ketchikan has grown tremendously since I lived there as a kid. It was amazing to see all the changes. We rented a car to drive around ourselves, which was great. Totem Bite State Historical Park was great to see, as was beautiful Ward Lake, two of my old favorite places as a child. The old neighborhood has changed plenty in all the years since we lived there.
