We wanted to find out more about Britain and feel that we had circumnavigated our homeland. The cruise gave us all that and through the varied excursions provided lots of interest including the Bayeux Tapestry, the Guinness Brewery in Dublin, the Titanic Exhibition in Belfast and the Orkneys.

The quality of the food and the choice offered was first class as was the entertainment in the well appointed modern Show Lounge. The outside cabin on deck 10 was of more than adequate size and particularly good for storage space. All the staff and crew were pleasant and friendly and seemed happy in their work.

The best time to judge the performance of the service team is when things go wrong and on the last day we were delayed getting back to Tilbury by bad weather. The staff responded well by extending access to cabins, providing a full restaurant service and laying on extra entertainment - all this while trying to get the ship prepared for the next intake of passengers. Most important, the PA announcements were clear, informative and frequent.
