Because 3 of us 4 were diabetics we need to eat at the same time each evening. We were told that our time would be 8:30. Unacceptable to us. We finally had to go to Customer service to get it changed., We spent the first evening eating at the buffet on Deck 9-not good. When we finally got a dining time we found that the food was just barely warm and not that good. We did love being served and our waiters were excellent and a joy to see them every day. The sugar free deserts were barely eatable. Not sure who planned the meals but they were not "fine dining" The set up for the eggs upstairs at breakfast time was not adequate for the number of people being served. Standing in line and the cooks can only fry 4 eggs at a time due to the small frying pans. All bread and buns we kept under a heat lamp which caused them to dry out very quickly.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

When we booked our cruise we made it very clear that we wanted cabins that had balcony doors that would open as we were traveling with my cousin and his wife. We were not told until we got on the ship that we would not be able to open them which was a great disappointment to us. Cabin was ok, lots of storage and plenty of clothes hangers. . Room was not clean when we arrived and balcony doors were so very dirty. Looked like they had not been cleaned for a long time. Outside chairs and table we very dirty. Hair in the sink and shower. Also no shampoo or any toiletries of any kind. Had to ask for a sharps container which had been ordered over a year before.

We had a fridge in our room where I stored my meds as they have to be kept cold at all times. One evening my husband went back to our room and found my meds sitting on the counter. Someone went into our room and changed our fridge [was happy to get a new one], and did not put my meds back in the fridge. I went down to customer services where I made a formal complaint. So for I have not heard anything from anyone on the ship.No one except me should be handling my meds at any time.

Seating in Vision of the Seas is scarce. In the bars there is probably seating for 300 on a ship with 2000 people. Not good. Our waitress in the R bar went beyond excellent service. She remembered our names and was there whenever we needed her-even just for a glass of ice water. She was a ray of sunshine to our dreary days on a terrible ship.

Entertainment in the R bar was very boring-same people playing the same music every day. Not much dance music unless it Latin. Evening entertainment in the theater was great. Theater was lovely and very comfortable seats. Loved the band Rookie.
