We chose this cruise for the itinerary, the Baltics. We sailed on the Getaway on August 23, 2017. The ship is beautiful and the common areas are nicely appointed. We stayed in a mid-ship balcony cabin. This was not our first cruise(5th), but this was the smallest balcony size room we ever had, easily a 1/3 smaller than on Celebrity or MSC. The cabin steward, Jobi was great - loved his towel animals, and his kindness. The cabin itself is nicely appointed and has all the necessities.

Prior to the cruise, I signed us up for the spa passes, for the 9-day meal package, and we had unlimited beverage package and a 250 wifi as a perk. I can honestly say that the cruise line made money on us, as we didn't drink or eat as much as we used to when we were younger. If I was in the Caribbean, then maybe I can drink $79 a day, but on the Baltic cruise, one is out most of the day, so the drinking is done primarily at night (unless one is a lush) basically a pre-dinner drink, 2 glasses of wine with dinner and a drink or two afterwards (does not come to even $50.)

Now, I can honestly say that the service personnel on the ship were well trained, very helpful and nice to us. Shout out to Ernest, a great bartender from Zimbabwe, who knows the difference between rose and a rose colored wine (2 bartenders from Philippines did not know the difference.) He also made us both hot toddies on the last night of the cruise (we both got sick) and the last 2 days were basically in the room and only crawled out for dinner.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BX

Small room, and small balcony. Nicely appointed. Mattress was too hard, asked the steward for the topper, which made it ok. Had decent soap, but the shampoo was strange.

The steward was great.

Port Reviews

Rostock (Warnemunde)

Beautiful sea side resort with lots of shops and restaurants. Very clean.

Helsinki

Great modern city. Easy to get around. Either get a Helsinki card (transport is good) or do the Hop-on-Hop-off tour bus. Go to their fortress, great history.
