Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Choose this cruise because of the dates and itinerary. Our earlier cruises were on cozy ships. So we were a bit worried about the size and had read reviews about the difficulty of getting on and off, but we were pleasantly surprised.

After a brief one day stay at a disappointing hotel near central station, we encountered a big problem. Because of a Muslim festival, most taxis were off the road. The hotel concierge just threw up her hands. With the help of a very understanding family of cruisers, who let us have the taxi, which they had flagged on the road, we got to the port to a very organized embarkation process.

The cabin was comfortable, with a good bit of storage in nooks and corners. Cabin steward Reggie was a very helpful and smiling guy. The balcony was just adequate for the 2 of us. Our dining experience was excellent, considering it was a 9 day cruise. Between the 3 dining rooms, we found Savor much better, mainly because of the Maître-D Bhisham Singh, who is an outstanding problem solver. We tried most restaurants except La Cucina. The best food was in La Bistro. Teppenyaki was more about the chef's theatrics. Shanghai was a disappointment. For a mass eatery, Garden cafe had good food choice and was well managed. Servers at O'Sheehan's were probably asked to limit the over ordering an wastage by diners. But they were doing it in a very obvious and clumsy way.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Decent size with good storage. Good bathroom for a cruise ship. On awar climate cruise the balcony size will be a constraint. Linen was good and the bathrobes was a good convenience. Location of telephone near the mirror, made the wake up call process a bit challenging.

Port Reviews

Rostock (Warnemunde)

Warnemunde is avery pretty town. Since the weather was great, we walked around the town and enjoyed it.

Tallinn

A great port for a walkabout. Thanks to the lovely weather it was an unforgettable experience. The locals are friendly, but many are not good at understanding or speaking English. So a good map is your best friend.

Helsinki

There is very little to see in the city, so we did the ususal tourist places
