We were interested in learning about Holland, Germany and Switzerland and discovering what a river cruise was like -- the best and most relaxing of all the cruises we have taken!
Our meals were fantastic, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed having dinner entertainment. Margaret and Gigi looked after us with our favourite alcoholic drinks during our meals and on the sundeck as well as the lounge. Costin, the head of food service, always made sure that our meals were what we expected and were always available. Kurt, the cruise director, was fantastic and did a super job of making sure everything was going smoothly and made Harley laugh like crazy during the "German class" and as a result, Harley has signed up for conversational German to start Sept. 18!
The tour guides for the canals of Amsterdam and the bus tour were exceptional.
Cabin Review
The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and the shower was great. I have just one little complaint: that there was not an outlet for the hair dryer in in the bathroom but I appreciated the fact that a dryer was supplied because mine burned out the first day!
We enjoyed the balcony with the window that went up and down and the lighting was great for reading at night. No matter what the time of day, there was something to look at on the river bank.
We appreciated that the mini-bar was refreshed every day, and we loved getting the chocolates every night! Ratko made sure we were well looked after. The room was always kept clean with new towels, etc.

We walked through the vineyard in hot temperatures with a "view" of the Black Forest. We enjoyed finishing with Schnapps and Black Forest Cake. (And free toilets!)
