My boyfriend and I booked our trip rather last minute and booked a lot of excursions too online before we left. On arrival at Newcastle port, it was a little confusing for us where we had to go as there was a queue to drop off your luggage which you had to do first, before you proceeded to a check in signposted building - easily sorted no big deal
A lot of people commenting on the standards of the ship, we found our room and the restaurant very comfortable, there are a few restaurants on board that you have to pay a subsidy for again - no big deal.
The staff and food was fantastic, Johnny on reception and our housekeeper Dede were lovely, and the waiters were equally friendly and lovely people.
We had a room on Deck 1, L room layout, plenty of space really lovely comfortable room, the only thing I'd recommend Thomson do is lock the in room safe's if not being used, we stored everything valuable in our locked cases. If you're not going to use the safe its left open....no big deal....or so we thought, the last night coming back to Newcastle was very bumpy, and you could hear it opening and banging the wardrobe door, closing and banging the safe door....that kept us awake for a while
