Had never been to Alaska and wanted to visit Glacier Bay. This covered a very small part of AK but got to see lots of scenery and learn Alaskan history. The day in Glacier Bay was one of the highlights. NPS Rangers did a great job. We had great weather on this day. Saw bear, goats, moose, eagles, seals even a camp site.
On our stops in Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan we visited the NPS
NFS venues, these places had ranger lead talks which were very informative also movies about the area. Kendall Glacier was very crowded, however the sites in Sitka and Ketchikan were not. Would have liked more time in Victoria.
Good location, aft. Near elevator but quite. Cabin crew
Helpful. We like to walk most of the ship by taking the stairs. This cabin was 2 floors from MDR open seating.
Mendenhall Glacier. Very crowded. Good info and movie in the visitors center
Highlight of our cruise. Great weather. NP Rangers were terrific.
Got to hear a mass in Michael the ArchAngel Russian church. It was very moving.visited the Bishops house and Totem Park, both NP.
Walked around town. Visited the NFS interagency visitors center, informative and several movies though out the day. At 9:00 in the morning there were only 4 of us in the theatre for a very interesting movie on the native Alaskans. With 2 cruise ship in port and over 5,000 people, go figure. Their loss. There was also a good interpretations of the growth of the area. Had soup and sandwich at a small cafe next to the fish hatchery.
Not enough time to enjoy this lovely city. Had a drink at the Empress hotel and walk to China town for dinner. Then walked back to ship. Loved all the building covered in lights. Would loved more time here.
