I had done a 7 day cruise about 8 years ago and bemoaned not going into the interior of Alaska at the time, so I took this 14 day cruise/tour to see it all - and boy, did I ! The cruise was phenomenal with great tours and excellent weather at the glaciers. Had a front facing room and it brought the glaciers almost into my cabin. NCL's land tour was the best organized and diverse as any I have taken part in on any continent. Loved every minute of this trip. The places that we visited included historic, educational, with an opportunity to see and interact with native animals and dog training facilities. The train trip from Talkeetna to Denali national park was beautiful and amazing. They chose many great hotels and very picturesque locations. The choice of shore excursions on-board was varied, whale watching, fishing, train and bus rides into the Yukon to follow the trail of the gold miners, and visits to native attractions such as lumberjacks, totem poles, and eagles with a lot of salmon bakes thrown in.

Cabin Review

Owner's Suite with Large Balcony

Cabin SB

I had reserved a balcony cabin and then participated in their advantage upgrade where you bid on suites that might open up and I won an owner's suite! It was beyond description. It had a huge balcony at the front right over the Captain's bridge. It was so large it had a table and 4 chairs, 2 chaise lounges, and its own hot tub. I had parties whenever we were near the glaciers!

Port Reviews

Vancouver

Pleasant staff, fast embarkation. It was a bit confusing because a Disney cruise was using the same facilities at the same time.

Glacier Bay

We sailed into many of the arms of Glacier Bay with a Park Ranger giving a constant description of the various glaciers their size, age, origin, etc. The weather was fantastic and the Captain was able to turn the ship in a circle at several locations.

Seward

Were picked up off the ship to stat our week in Alaska. A couple of miles from the port we saw our first mouse eating along the highway.
