This was our first cruise to Alaska and second cruise with Celebrity. We departed from Vancouver. embarkation was very smooth, no line, because we got there after 3. Because we packed lightly and handled our own bags, disembarkation was a breeze too.
As with our first Celebrity cruise, the dining and service were great. Our cabin was small but we got used to it. Our 25 year old daughter traveled with us so that limited space, too.
The entertainment was pretty good with the Ballroom Dance Show being the best.
Small but adequate
We stayed an extra night after our cruise to see Vancouver. We went to the Fly over Canada movie. Made me kind of queasy. Walked along the seawall to Stanley Park. That was nice. We could have rented bikes there but enjoyed the walking after having been on a ship.
We took the public bus to Mendenhall Glacier, $2. You catch it at the bus terminal about a block or so from the ship. It does make many stops and also drops you off 1.5 miles from the glacier. The walk to the glacier is flat and pretty. We walked to Nugget Falls from the glacier which gives you a closer view.
After returning to town, we walked around. It was a beautiful day. The shops were having sales because of this being the end of the cruising season there.
Went to the visitor center, Got a map of the town. Explored. Neat little town. We enjoyed the salmon ladder. Once again, good weather.
