A good cruise but not excellent as previous Princess cruises have been.

We had an EXCELLENT Med cruise on Emerald Princess about 4 years ago. This was a different itinerary but we expected just as good an experience this time. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Good points;

* We used the sanctuary 3 times which was very good on sea days. (I did get a sliver of glass from the floor in my big toe. Quite a lot of blood but it happens; I got over it).

* The cabin staff were very good and attentive. Perhaps not as friendly and engaging as previous staff but very efficient.

Cabin IA

Just what we expected. We spend our money on other things such as the Sanctuary. We only use the cabin for sleeping and getting changed in.

Port Reviews

Rhodes

Excellent. We will go back to Rhodes. Independent trip around old town.

Santorini

We got off the tender and took the 'speedboat' to Aie. They then take you to the town on a bus and later to Fera by bus. All for E15 per person. Very good value. You do of course have to pay E6 to go down to the tender by the cable car.

Taormina (Messina)

We walked to the train station and got the train to Taormina (E4.30 per person). Then the bus to the town. Lovely.
