We choose this cruise as an 80th birthday celebration for my father in law. He has Scottish heritage and Scotland was on his bucket list. A cruise made the most sense since we were a family of 12-80yrs of age. The ship was tired, cabins tiny, theatre and Marketplace had limited seating. Never went to the buffet when there was a table available. We were a party of 11 but went to the buffet in small groups (2-4). the entertainment was poor. The ship's singers/dancers were very good and there was a great pianist that played in the lounges was very good. Oh, and a violinist that performed in the theatre was very good. So, 3 theatre performances out of 12 were good. Since we were a family, we decided to go for the studio portrait plan. The photo's were disappointing. No better than the photos taken on formal nights. The studio ones were unoriginal. Having said all of that, the trip was great! Our balcony was huge (carib deck), we had lots of closet space, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. the Dining room was able to seat all 11 of us together each night. The food was good. The beverage package was great! Lots of options to order within that $10 limit along with coffees/ waters. The itinerary was fantastic! Loved all of the ports. We pre booked private tours and saved tons of $. Our drivers were fantastic and went out of their way to give us good days. This is not a cruise for relaxing. Long excursion days. The dance club was lucky to have 9 people there at night. It is an older person's cruise. Again, we had a wonderful time and would recommend this cruise. This was my first time on Princess and was prepared for the ship.
