My husband and I sailed on the Carnival Breeze out of Galveston (8/20/17) and due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Harvey the Port of Galveston was closed. We ended up staying an extra night in Cozumel before attempting to return back to Galveston. As the port was still closed we ended up rerouting into NOLA and stayed there and in the Mississippi River for an extra few days until finally returning to Galveston on 9/2/17.

We had an AMAZING time! The Carnival Breeze crew made us feel like family and really went above and beyond to minimize the uncertainty and discomfort of our extended vacation. Captain Massimo Marino and Cruise Director, Mike, were in constant contact with passengers and provided updates about the port and vehicles parked at the port as soon as the information was available. They offered to allow passengers to disembark in NOLA if they wanted to travel back on their own, but strongly urged us to stay onboard until we could safely disembark and travel home from Galveston. While in NOLA Carnival gave complimentary Hop on Hop Off bus tickets to do a two hour tour of the city and also allow passengers to refill prescriptions and gather personal items needed. They continued all entertainment onboard and the production team created new shows and several new comedians came aboard to keep the fun going! The party never stopped on the Carnival Breeze! Our 7 days cruise turned into a 13 day cruise and although there was the uncertainty of when we'd return home, whether our vehicle would be okay and undamaged in the port, the financial issues that accompany missed days from work, etc. Carnival went far out of their way to make the passengers comfortable, happy, fed, and entertained. Our steward, Wi, memorized our names the first day and took excellent care to ensure our needs were met. Our wait staff was lead by Livia and her assistants, Sukiarta and Tri. Livia's team made it important to call us by name every night and we had wonderful conversations with her and the team! Every night we felt like we were going to have dinner with friends and even became close with the families around us. The ship's crew and passengers really came together and this year's cruise will never be forgotten.

This experience has solidified our decision to cruise exclusively with Carnival. Their unbeatable customer service and willingness to communicate openly and continue making our vacation memorable despite the weather conditions make us feel at ease. Thank you so much Carnival for another wonderful vacation to remember! We can't wait for our next cruise in 2018. See you soon!
