Pros: Outstanding customer service from staff. Good food (except for the buffet.) Didn't have to wait for a table for my time dining. Quality drinks and bars were great! Rowdy crowd but there were still a couple of quiet places on deck for people who were looking for a quieter, more relaxing experience. Good water and pressure in the shower. New Orleans show was great! Liked the onboard shopping. Customer service in the spa and spa treatments were excellent. Excursions were wonderful.
Cons: The best restaurants closed early and weren't even open for dinner (like Blue Iguana closing at 3:30pm!) Dining room dinner service was slow. Ship is showing its age with rust and other damage here and there. Decor in some areas is nice but tacky in others. No fridge in cabin. Only one nightstand next to bed, and second person had to climb onto bed from the bottom - not enough room next to the bed to get in the easy way. Bed was hard. Muster drill was slow and involved standing outdoors in the blaring heat. Buffet was very disappointing. Most of the entertainment didn't appeal to us. No packages available to save money on photos. Getting off the ship was very disorganized and inefficient with a line a mile long. They should have staggered it more instead of forcing everyone off so early just to wait in line. Purchased liquor was not delivered to room - had to pick up the morning leaving during all of the chaos. Lido deck was swarmed with party animals and noise, but we found other places to relax after we got our drinks at the bars. Elevator problems on first day, which was a major issue for my disabled husband.
Verdict: A land based casino comped us this cruise, and having had the Triumph experience I would go again if comped but I would not pay. I would pay more to travel on a different line.
No fridge. One nightstand for bed, and second person had to climb into bed from the bottom, not enough room to walk around. Plenty of storage and good bathroom. Good shower water and pressure. Bed was hard. Only one stool and the bed to sit on.
Not as chaotic as other ports I've been to - not as many ships going out on the same day so less confusing. $13 per day parking available from several vendors within walking distance. Only complaint were long lines on the last day. No excursions were available but New Orleans is a great place for independent sightseeing before or after cruise.
