Thompson unfortunately are money first, customer second , we felt very strongly that it was all about squeezing every last penny from you, this was our first cruise and probably our last, The Thompson dream is dated, the food very poor, you are unable to leave your sun bed for more than 45 mins, if you do your belongings are taken to reception because there are nowhere near enough sun beds, so forget a relaxing lunch, stuff it down and legg it back, excursions are unnecessarily expensive, average £220 per day for a family of 4 , housekeeping staff were lovely, reception staff rude and abrupt, our daughter was injured on the ship by a broken lamp, we went to reception and asked for a plaster and whilst she was dripping blood we were talked through the prices," Buy your own plasters from the shop or pay £47 to open the medical centre" no concern for her what so ever !! , money money money ! On an over priced cruise anyway, I urge you to shop around !
Cabin dated but livable, tried to charge £47 for pre booking our cabins so we were next to our children, youngest is type 1 diabetic and needs blood sugar checks through the night so this is a medical requirement not a luxury ! Had to insist we had cabins next to each other and was questioned relentlessly about my child's diabetes to prove I wasn't pulling a fast one.
